A TDR is a value added feature of the TTX-003 allowing the technician to verify the cable pair length and detect impairments such as shorts or grounds before attempting to provision a circuit for DSL use.
The TDR trace shown indicates an impedance error at approximately 1200 feet. Pressing F1 key will activate the cursor for pinpoint location of the occurrence.
Pulse Width and Gain are preset, but can be adjusted as needed.
In addition to a coarse distance setting the technician can zoom in for a more accurate view . This graph shows the graph above with zoom and cursor active. The distance to the open is 1254 feet.
A cable chart is included to assist in proper VOP setup.
